Essex teen cuffed after juvenile shot on Cutty Sark

ESSEX, MD – A 15-year-old has been taken into custody after a juvenile was shot Tuesday evening in a Baltimore County neighborhood, leaving the victim hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

The shooting occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. in the 3900 block of Cutty Sark in Essex, according to Baltimore County Police.

Officers responding to the scene located a juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was listed in critical but stable condition.

Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit identified and arrested a 15-year-old suspect in connection with the shooting.

The suspect has been placed with the Department of Juvenile Services. Police said there is no active threat to the community related to the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
