She was transported by responding officers to Temple University Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
According to investigators, the shooting stemmed from an argument involving a person who was acting erratically on the street.
The victim told police the individual entered a silver sedan, retrieved a black handgun and fired one shot, striking her in the shoulder.
She also told investigators she believes the shooter may live on the block.
No arrests have been announced.
Accidental shooting leads to criminal charges
In a separate incident late Saturday night, officers from the 35th District responded after a 20-year-old woman arrived at Albert Einstein Medical Center with a gunshot wound to her right arm.
Police determined the shooting occurred at approximately 11:13 p.m. inside a residence in the 200 block of West Spencer Street.
Investigators said preliminary findings indicate a 22-year-old man was handling a firearm when it accidentally discharged.
According to police, the man is the son of the victim’s father’s girlfriend.
The victim was treated and listed in stable condition.
Authorities said the man possesses a valid permit to carry a firearm and voluntarily surrendered the weapon to investigators.
Despite the shooting being classified as accidental, police said he has been charged with Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Simple Assault.
