Toms River to honor student selected for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade band

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — The Toms River Township Council is set to honor James Warren, a student at Toms River High School North, who was selected to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Band, one of the most prestigious ensembles in the country.

Mayor Dan Rodrick announced that James will receive a proclamation recognizing his achievement during the next council meeting at Town Hall.

“Toms River is proud of you!” the township wrote in a social media post celebrating Warren’s selection.

Warren auditioned and secured a spot in the nationally televised parade, which features high school musicians from across the United States. The performance marks a significant accomplishment for the local student, representing Toms River on a national stage.

“This is a very prestigious accomplishment and we’re proud to have had James represent us on Thanksgiving morning on the national stage,,” Mayor Rodrick said.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Band includes hundreds of top-performing musicians who rehearse intensively before the event, which draws millions of viewers both in person and via broadcast.

Rodrick also said the Toms River High School North football team will be recognized for their third consecutive state championship title.
