North Carolina driver arrested after deputies find 12-inch blade
DUNKIRK, MD — A North Carolina driver is facing weapons and traffic charges after deputies discovered a concealed 12-inch fixed-blade knife during a traffic stop in Dunkirk, authorities said.
DFC Newton stopped the vehicle at approximately 11:35 p.m. July 17 on West Chesapeake Beach Road for an expired registration.
Investigators identified the driver as Bobby Daniel Cooper II, 50, of Stem, North Carolina.
Deputies determined Cooper was driving with a suspended registration and without a valid driver’s license.
During the investigation, deputies located a concealed 12-inch fixed-blade knife between the driver’s seat and center console.
Cooper was arrested and charged with concealing a dangerous weapon and driving on a suspended license.
