The Trump economy is working so well for Americans that even out-of-work former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick was able to muster up some interest in his future employment opportunities.
“Trump has unemployment so low, even Colin Kaepernick got a job interview,” Trump Jr. tweeted.
This past weekend, Kaepernick who essentially tanked his already-in-decline football career for leading the protest to kneel during the national anthem had a second shot to make his way back into the NFL. He blew it. Many feel it was intentional.
“He don’t want to play. He wants to be a martyr. But guess what? It aint working this time. ALL of us believed that Colin Kaepernick would have showed out. And if he would have showed out, im here to tell you that he would have had a job within 2 weeks,” said ESPN commentator Stephen Smith.
At the end of the day, Kaepernick was a no-show for his own workout in front of NFL teams.
“We are disappointed that Colin did not appear for his workout,” the NFL said in a statement. “Today’s session was designed to give Colin what he has consistently said he wants, an opportunity to show his football readiness and desire to return to the NFL.”
Instead of making the interview set up by the NFL which real NFL teams attended, he moved his workout to a high school 44 miles from Atlanta where the workout was to be held. He showed up in a Kunta-Kinte t-shirt, named after the fictional main character in the television show roots that documented the African slave trade and the life of Kunta-Kinte.
