Gaithersburg, MD – Two suspects have been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder following a stabbing in Silver Spring that left a victim seriously injured, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District.
Destiny Iyonna Lesueur, 25, and Eric Dewayne Harris Jr., 27, were taken into custody March 23 by the United States Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and are now held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. The charges stem from a February 28 incident in the 11500 block of February Circle that escalated from vandalism to a violent assault.
Confrontation escalates to violence
Officers initially responded around 4:21 p.m. for a reported vandalism at an apartment building. The investigation determined that a resident, identified as Victim 1, confronted Lesueur and Harris in a stairwell where they were allegedly smoking a controlled dangerous substance and blocking access to the building.
After the confrontation, the suspects moved outside and allegedly slashed the tires of the victim’s Honda Odyssey before attempting to leave the area on foot toward Lockwood Drive.
Victim stabbed while calling 911
A second individual, identified as Victim 2, followed the suspects while calling 911 to report the incident. During that encounter, police say Lesueur and Harris approached the individual and stabbed the victim in the face.
Detectives later identified both suspects through investigative efforts, leading to their eventual arrest nearly a month after the incident.
