Two hospitalized in Manchester crash

MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – Two women were injured due to a single-vehicle crash in Manchester Township Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a guard rail and tree before stopping in the township’s Ridgeway section. The crash occurred at around 2:30 pm.

“Upon arrival, officers observed a 2007 Toyota Camry with extensive front end damage on the grass portion adjacent to the roadway with the rear of the vehicle resting on the guard rail,” said Lt. James Komsa, Investigations Bureau Commander for the department. “The investigation revealed that the Toyota was travelling southbound on CR 547, when it left the roadway, struck two traffic sign supports, a large pine tree, and a guard rail.  The vehicle was occupied by its driver, identified as 19 year old Yanna Emilcar, and the front seat passenger, identified as 26 year old Safiany Emilcar.”

The two women were taken by ambulance to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment and evaluation of non-life threatening injuries.  Route 547 was closed for several hours during the investigation.

Police are continuing to investigate this crash.
