Wilkes-Barre police search for vehicle tied to possible crime scene

Police seek pickup truck driver who may have witnessed Wilkes-Barre disturbance

Wilkes-Barre, PA – Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver or passengers of a silver pickup truck who may have witnessed an incident on Carey Avenue over the weekend.

According to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, the vehicle was traveling southbound on Carey Avenue at approximately 5:17 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, when it passed a location near 309 Carey Avenue, just before the former Meyers High School. Police believe the truck’s occupants may have seen a disturbance or commotion occurring to the right of the vehicle as they drove past.

Authorities are not releasing details about the nature of the incident but say the truck’s driver or passengers could have information critical to an ongoing investigation.

Detective James Conmy is handling the case and is asking the individuals in the truck—or anyone who may recognize the vehicle—to contact him directly at 570-208-6675.
