Brooklyn, NY – Police are searching for a suspect accused of assaulting a 66-year-old woman aboard a northbound Q train in Brooklyn after a verbal dispute escalated into violence Thursday morning, according to the NYPD.
The attack happened around 7:20 a.m. at the Newkirk Avenue subway station, the NYPD said in a Crime Stoppers alert released Saturday.
Investigators said the unidentified suspect approached the woman while she was riding the train and became involved in an argument before allegedly punching the victim in the right side of the face and biting her left forearm.
The suspect fled the station on foot and remains unidentified.
Assault Happened During Morning Commute
Police have not released a description of the suspect or said what sparked the confrontation aboard the train.
The 66-year-old victim’s condition was not disclosed, though authorities described the incident as an assault involving physical injuries.
