LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning, resulting in the hospitalization of a woman.
LPD reported that officers were dispatched to the 900-block of Pierce Street on Sunday at 12:23 a.m., responding to a call regarding malicious wounding and multiple shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers found a 22-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Immediate first aid was provided by the responding officers, after which the victim was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital.
No information about a potential suspect is currently available, according to LPD.
