Powerball ticket sold in Astoria wins $1 million second-tier prize

Astoria, NY – A Powerball player in Astoria became an instant millionaire after matching five numbers in the December 17 drawing, securing a second-prize win worth $1,000,000.

The New York Lottery confirmed that the winning ticket was sold at ASTORIA FUEL & CONV STORE, located at 30-02 Astoria Boulevard. The ticket matched all five white balls drawn, missing only the red Powerball.

This was one of three second-prize-winning tickets sold in New York for the December 17 drawing, each worth $1 million.
