Two Young Victims Shot in Car in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, NY – Police in Syracuse said two teenage boys were shot while driving a car near the Centro Bus Hub.

According to police, on Monday, at around 2:00 P.M., officers responded to the 800 block of Bellevue Avenue for a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shots fired, and several casings were located.

“A short time later, a vehicle driven by a 15-year-old male with a 13-year-old male passenger arrived at the​ Centro Bus Hub in downtown Syracuse,” the Syracuse Police Department said in a statement. “The vehicle was struck by gunfire, and the 15-year-old driver was shot in the hand. The 15-year-old driver was transported to Upstate Hospital, where he is expected to survive. “


Police said the investigation revealed that the 15-year-old victim was operating the vehicle, which had previously been reported stolen, in the 800 block of Bellevue Avenue when a suspecton foot shot at his car.

“As a result, the victim and his car were struck by gunfire. After the shots were fired, the victim fled the scene to the Centro Bus Hub to report the incident,” the department said.
