NEW YORK, NY – A 29-year-old man is in custody for the brutal murder of three people in Queens, whose bodies were discovered last Friday. Travis Blake has been arrested after a weeklong search for him led police to Maine.

On Friday, detectives and New York City Police officers were called to the grisly discovery of three butchered bodies, badly decomposing in a home on 155th Street in South Jamaica. The bodies were found by a relative who also lived in the home, but was at work at the time of the murders.

A family friend, Varshanna Malcolm, 22, visiting the victims from Jamaica was among the victims found in the home. Police say Malcolm was tied up with an electrical cord and duct tape and stabbed multiple times.

55-year-old Karlene Barnett and her 36-year-old son Dervon Blightly were also found stabbed and beaten to death.

Blake is believed to have been Barnett’s boyfriend who was visiting from out of state.
