Car Burglary Suspect Sought by Newark Police

NEWARK, NJ – Newark police are investigating a car burglary that occurred in June. Today, the Newark Department of Public Safety released images of the suspect caught on local surveillance video.

Interim Newark Public Safety Director Raul Malave requests the public’s help in identifying the unknown male in connection with a theft from a car that occurred on Monday, June 27th.

“A victim reported that their vehicle had been broken into at approximately 11 p.m. while parked in the 100 block of Telford Street. The suspect is seen on surveillance camera exiting the victim’s car. Missing from the vehicle are a laptop, engagement ring, work bag, New Jersey identification card, and personal papers,” police said. “Detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect, who is described as 6-ft. tall and 160 pounds, wearing a black Yankee cap, black t-shirt, dark-colored pants, and high-top sneakers with a white design on the bottom.”
