Newark Police Seek to Identify Lewdness Suspect Known Simply as Chocolate Za

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Police were sketchy in their details of what exactly happened, but they are now searching for a woman accused of engaging in lewdness near McCarter Highway.

Police issued the following statement regarding the incident:

Interim Newark Public Safety Director Raul Malave seeks the public’s help in identifying the attached pictured female suspect in connection with a lewdness incident that occurred on July 28, 2022.

The suspect, who goes by the name Chocolate Za, was seen on video at McCarter Highway and Parkhurst Street conducting an act of lewdness.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect. She is described as approximately 20-25 years old and 5’5” to 5’7” tall. The suspect was wearing light blue shorts and a white tank top. Her hairstyle is in long black braids with strands of red on top.

Interim Director Malave urges anyone with information about this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
