24-year-old man shot 16 times and killed in East Germantown section of Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA -The Philadelphia Police Department today reported that a man was shot overnight on the 800 block of East Chelten Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. According to detectives, the 24-year old man was shot 16 times throughout his entire body during the shooting.

He was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Please do not have any suspects in custody and did not say what led up to the shooting. No further information was released regarding the identity of the victim or suspects.
