Toms River man charged for commercial theft

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ – A Toms River man has been arrested and charged with commercial theft in Manahawkin.

A theft was reported to Stafford Township Police Department on February 11 from the Universal Supply Company in Manahawkin, located on East Bay Avenue. Jesse Vonderlinden, 39, of Toms River, NJ, was found to have unlawfully entered the business multiple times between January 13, 2023 and February 11, 2023, taking over $38,000 in building materials. An arrest warrant was issued for him after that.

Stafford police officers received a notification from Universal Supply’s owner on Wednesday that a subject had been observed in their supply yard through surveillance cameras. As soon as Patrol Officers responded, Jesse Vonderlinden was seen leaving the area in his vehicle.

Upon his arrest, Vonderlinden was charged with multiple counts of Burglary, Criminal Attempt of Theft, and Criminal Mischief. He was processed and lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
