CUMBERLAND, MD – On Sunday, at approximately 12:21 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Valley Street and N. Centre Street after receiving a report of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers observed several people engaged in a verbal altercation. One of the subjects involved, later identified as a Cumberland resident, began walking away from the scene.

Police attempted to detain the suspect and question him regarding a possible assault, but he refused to obey officers’ orders to stop walking away and began causing a disturbance.

Lee was subsequently arrested and transported to police headquarters. After being seen by a District Court Commissioner, he was released on his personal recognizance. He now faces charges of obstructing and hindering and disorderly conduct. The Cumberland Police Department continues its investigation into the incident.

The suspect’s name has been omitted from the article.
