FRANKLIN TWP., NJ – On Thursday, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office and the Franklin Township Police Department began a homicide investigation following a shooting in Franklin Township.

At approximately 9:56 pm, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call about a shooting in the area of Rose Street and Sydney Place. Upon arrival, they found Kofi Addo, a 57-year-old taxi driver from North Brunswick, suffering from a gunshot wound. Addo was transported to a nearby Trauma Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The preliminary investigation suggests that Addo was shot while picking up a fare. The suspect(s) fled the scene on foot.
