April Harlem double murder suspect Indicted

MANHATTAN, NY – Messiah Nantwi, 21, has been indicted on Thursday by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., for the murder of two people in Harlem over a span of 27 hours. The events took place in broad daylight on the streets and inside a smoke shop at 304 Lenox Avenue.

At approximately 4:40 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2023, Nantwi allegedly shot 19-year-old Jaylen Duncan at close range at the intersection of East 132nd Street and Madison Avenue.

The following day, at about 7:50 p.m., Nantwi allegedly had an argument with 36-year-old Brandon Brunson inside a smoke shop at 304 Lenox Avenue.

Brunson was shot in the head after making a purchase and turning to leave.
