Suspected Bank Robber Shot Dead by SWAT Team in Reading

READING, OH – A man suspected of armed robbery was fatally shot during a SWAT intervention on Monday. Michael Craddock, a 32-year-old resident of Reading, was accused of robbing a Fifth Third Bank. He was found by police in a residence on the 1200 block of Third Street.

Craddock allegedly pointed a gun at officers, prompting an Amberley Village officer to discharge his firearm.

Following the shooting, Craddock retreated into the house. When Hamilton County SWAT members entered the house, they found Craddock deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

The shooting is currently under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.
