DORCHESTER, NJ – On Saturday, an unidentified man allegedly tried to abduct a 7-year-old boy from a Wawa convenience store on State Highway 47 in Dorchester, Cumberland County. The incident occurred at around 12:20 pm when the unidentified man entered the store’s bathroom and approached the boy.

The suspect, an older white male with gray hair combed back, wearing blue jeans and a maroon or burgundy t-shirt, offered the child candy and tried to persuade him to leave the store. The boy declined and the suspect attempted to take him by force.

Fortunately, the child was able to escape. The suspect left the scene before the boy’s family could locate him. New Jersey State Police Port Norris Station is seeking information on the case and can be reached at (856) 785-0036.
