15 shot, 5 dead in NYC on Juneteenth

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Monday witnessed a surge in gun violence across New York City, with 15 people shot in 10 separate incidents and five fatalities.

Among the deceased was a 56-year-old man, Kevin Roberts, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside an apartment building on Simpson Street in the Longwood section of the Bronx at around 11 p.m.

No arrests have been made in this case, and police are continuing to investigate the other shootings.

On Monday, New Yorkers celebrated the Juneteenth holiday.
