Stabbing Incident Reported in Washington Square Park

NEW YORK, NY – The New York Police Department responded to a distress call of an ongoing assault on Wednesday, at about 4:25 pm in Washington Square Park. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 35-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Lenox Hill Healthplex Greenwich Village, where he was later pronounced dead. Currently, there are no arrests related to this case and the investigation continues.

The identity of the deceased will be released once family members have been notified.
