FORT WASHINGTON, MD – The Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that happened last Thursday evening in Fort Washington. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Avire Crowder of Clinton. Detectives, at this stage, don’t believe that this was a random crime.
Around 5:15 pm, police officers responded to a shooting incident on the 1200 block of Palmer Road. Crowder was found inside a car, suffering from gunshot wounds, and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Detectives are now working to identify any suspect(s) and establish a motive for the crime. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
