CUMBERLAND, MD – A man wanted for a home invasion and assault with a hammer has been arrested after a second was arrested previously.
On June 19, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a reported assault that had just occurred on Race Street. Subsequent investigation led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Brandon Marshall Ridgeley, and on June 27, officers served the warrant resulting in Ridgeley’s apprehension.
The investigation revealed that Ridgeley allegedly broke into a residence on Race Street by gaining entry through a kitchen window.
Once inside, he proceeded to assault the victim using a hammer. Concerned for the victim’s well-being, the Cumberland Police Department acted swiftly and decisively in response to this violent incident.
Brandon Marshall Ridgeley, a 45-year-old resident of Cumberland, Maryland, was taken into custody without incident. He has been transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond.
