Double shooting in the Bronx leaves one teen dead

NEW YORK, NY – Two suspects have been taken into custody in a double shooting that left one teen dead in the Bronx early Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened at around 2:20 am at 2256 Morris Avenue.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting that two males had been shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered an 18-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the leg and a 19-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the hip.

Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene, and the 18-year-old male was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital.

Despite their efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 19-year-old male was also transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital by EMS and is currently in stable condition.

During the initial investigation, two persons of interest were taken into custody. However, the investigation is ongoing, and further details surrounding the incident have not been released at this time.

The identity of the deceased individual is pending proper family notification.
