Larry Nassar, the disgraced former USA Gymnastics doctor convicted of sexually abusing young female gymnasts, was reportedly stabbed by another inmate in prison, according to the Associated Press. Nassar, currently serving a lengthy prison sentence at a federal facility in Florida, was involved in an argument on Sunday when he was stabbed in the back and chest.

He is said to be in stable condition following the incident. Further details about the incident were not provided, and neither the Bureau of Prisons nor the U.S. Penitentiary Coleman in Florida have issued immediate comments or statements in response.

In 2018, Nassar was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison for his sexual abuse of young female gymnasts, including prominent athletes such as Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, and McKayla Maroney, who were under his care.
