Boston Drug Control Unit Arrests Suspected Drug Trafficker

BOSTON, MA – Hector Lopez, a 51-year-old Boston resident, was arrested on drug trafficking charges on Friday.

The arrest occurred at about 2:00 PM, by officers of the District B-2 Drug Control Unit at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard.

Upon observing what appeared to be a drug transaction, officers attempted to apprehend Lopez, who initially resisted.

A significant quantity of narcotics, including approximately 120 grams of Fentanyl, 49 grams of Crack Cocaine, and 14 grams of powder Cocaine, were found on the suspect’s person.

Lopez has been charged with Trafficking of Class A over 100 grams, Trafficking of Class B over 36 grams, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, and Resisting Arrest. His arraignment is expected to take place at Roxbury District Court.
