CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department arrested Michael Anthony Butler Jr., a 35-year-old man from Cumberland, on Tuesday.

The arrest was based on an active Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court. The warrant alleges that Butler violated the terms of his probation, which had been established due to a previous conviction for disorderly conduct.

Following his initial court appearance, Butler was transferred to the Allegany County Detention Center and is being held without bond.

On the same day, the police also arrested 36-year-old Megan Lynn Pettit from Cumberland. She was detained on an active Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court on Monday, for failing to appear in court regarding a previous theft charge.

After her initial appearance in court, Pettit was released on her own recognizance.
