Stolen Credit Card Sheds Light on Car Thief

NEWARK, NJ – On July 27, unidentified individuals reportedly stole a credit card from an unlocked vehicle and used it for multiple purchases.

The Newark Public Safety Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the culprits.

The incident took place around 11 a.m., when the victim had parked his vehicle near 36-46 River Street. Upon his return, he found his wallet, containing credit and bank cards, missing.

Surveillance footage captured the suspects entering the victim’s car and taking the wallet. The stolen credit card was subsequently used for several transactions.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé asked anyone with information about the suspects to contact the department’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous tips will be kept confidential and may result in a reward.
