Newark Police Respond to “Swatting” Incident

NEWARK, DE – On Monday, at approximately 1:20 PM, the Newark Police Department was alerted to a reported shooting and possible barricade situation-

The incident was reported at the 100 block of Madison Drive.

However, thorough investigation revealed that there was no active threat, and this incident appears to be a case of “swatting”.

Thanks were extended to the community for their cooperation, and additional assistance from various agencies was acknowledged.
