Six Sought in New York City Scooter Based Robberies

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying six individuals in connection with a series of robberies. The incidents took place in various parts of the city, mostly involving victims who had their necklaces forcibly removed by suspects operating mopeds.

The earliest incident was reported on Saturday, August 5, at around 1:45 am. A 27-year-old female was walking near 75 Thompson Street when she was approached by two unknown individuals on a red moped. The suspects forcibly removed the victim’s necklaces and an earring before fleeing northbound on Thompson Street. The victim was uninjured.

The most recent incident was reported on last Monday, at around 6:05 am. A 24-year-old female was walking in front of 227 Mott Street when she was approached by two unknown individuals on a moped. T

he individuals tackled the victim and forcibly removed her necklace before fleeing. The victim later sought medical attention at NYU Langone Medical Center.

These incidents form part of a wider pattern involving similar robberies carried out by suspects on mopeds. In all cases, the victims were uninjured, but their necklaces were forcibly removed. Anyone with information relevant to these investigations is asked to contact the police.
