PHILADELPHIA, PA – On Monday, Charles Young was convicted by a Philadelphia jury for assaulting and robbing a female Uber driver near LaSalle University in April 2022. Young was found guilty of Aggravated Assault and Robbery.

The victim was parked and waiting for her fare when Young and co-defendant Amir Quazzani began to harass her.

They assaulted the driver by repeatedly punching and kicking her in the face. The two fled on foot when they couldn’t drive the vehicle away due to traffic.

A LaSalle student witnessed the incident and contacted the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office Carjacking Enforcement Unit, providing crucial testimony during Young’s trial. Young was arrested the following day along with his co-defendant.

The Carjacking Enforcement Unit ask anyone with additional information to come forward.
