CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, NJ – Michael Morales, 31, of Cape May Court House, and Nelson Otero, 31, of Heislerville, have been arrested by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force. The arrests were made on Monday, concluding a cooperative narcotics investigation into the distribution of heroin and cocaine.

Multiple agencies, including the Middle Township Police Department and the Lower Township Police Department, executed court-authorized search warrants on the residences and vehicles of Morales and Otero. The search yielded Trenbolone Acetate, Testosterone Cypionate, approximately 800 bags of suspected heroin, over one-half ounce of suspected cocaine, and more than $13,000 in U.S. currency. Two shotguns were also seized from Otero’s residence.

The substances seized were analyzed by the Cape May County Forensic Laboratory. The suspected heroin tested positive for Fentanyl, Xylazine, and Amitraz, a combination that increases the psychotropic effects and reduces Narcan effectiveness.

Morales and Otero face multiple charges, including two counts of Distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS), a second-degree crime, and one count of Money Laundering, a third-degree crime. Additional weapons charges are pending for Otero.
