Man Shot in Owings Following Verbal Argument

OWINGS, MD – On Sunday, around 10:52 p.m., deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau responded to a shooting on the 2900 block of 5th Street.

Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim and a known assailant were engaged in a verbal altercation, which escalated into an assault. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported to a nearby trauma center and is currently in stable condition.

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau is actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the department.
