WASHINGTON D.C. – A soda run turned into a $100,000 victory for a Washington, D.C. woman who purchased two Pick 5 lottery tickets at a local 7-Eleven.

The woman, 29, walked into 7-Eleven store #11682 on 7411 Central Avenue in Capitol Heights with the intention of buying a soda. She decided to also purchase two Pick 5 tickets, choosing numbers based on a family member’s birthdate. Opting for a $1 straight bet on both, she claimed two $50,000 top prizes.

She intends to use the winnings to pay off debts.

The selling store, 7-Eleven #11682, will receive a $1,000 bonus for the winning tickets. The Pick 5 lottery runs drawings twice daily and has been available since February 2022.
