16-Year-Old Arrested For D.C. Armed Carjacking

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department has made an arrest in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred on August 9th.

The incident took place around 10:29 p.m. in the 2900 block of Denver Street, Southeast, when the suspects approached the victim. During the encounter, the suspects forcibly took property from the victim, including the keys to their vehicle. Subsequently, they fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.

On Tuesday, a 16-year-old male juvenile from Southeast, DC, was taken into custody and has been charged in relation to the armed carjacking.

The investigation into this case is ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to refrain from taking any independent action. Instead, they are encouraged to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or provide a tip by texting to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
