Silver Spring Man Arrested for Multiple Counts of Mail Theft

SILVER SPRING, MD – Scott Brigden, 52, has been arrested and charged for multiple counts of destruction of property and mail theft. The arrest came after he allegedly vandalized and stole from several mailboxes and package rooms in the Warwick Towers Apartments.

Officers initially responded to the vandalism and theft report at 11:35 a.m. on June 27 on the 1130 block of University Blvd. W. Following an investigation led by the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit, Brigden was identified as the suspect.

On September 20, officers arrested Brigden based on an arrest warrant. A subsequent search warrant executed at his residence yielded multiple items considered to be evidence. Brigden was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and later released on an unsecured personal bond.

Detectives suspect there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is available for information leading to additional arrests. Callers can remain anonymous.
