While acknowledging that the situation has generated anxiety within the community, the department emphasized its unwavering commitment to public safety.
“We have been engaged and working alongside our federal, state, county, and local partners to gather and share real-time intelligence,” the department said in an official statement. Despite a surge in social media posts and reports calling for an uprising tomorrow, authorities have confirmed there are currently no known credible threats targeting New Jersey or the Township of East Brunswick.
To ensure the safety of residents, the department has augmented its security presence in and around sensitive locations throughout the township. This action is being taken “out of an abundance of caution,” according to the department’s official release.
