Dunkirk Bank Robber Pleads Guilty

DUNKIRK, MD – Silas M. Moore, 37, from Washington, DC, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges in relation to a bank robbery incident.

The charges include Armed Robbery, Use of a Handgun in the Commission of a Crime of Violence, and Unlawful Possession of a Regulated Firearm.

The crime occurred on May 1, at the M&T Bank in Dunkirk. Moore reportedly entered the bank, handed over a note demanding money, and brandished a handgun.

He fled with $1,000. A high-speed chase ensued as detectives pursued the getaway car. Moore, along with three alleged accomplices, was later arrested, and the stolen money and weapon were recovered.

Moore’s sentencing is set for October 23, where he could face up to 40 years in prison. Denise Blacknell, an accomplice, was sentenced on September 5, to 23 years, with 8 years of active incarceration.
