BALTIMORE, MD – Paul Armbrester Jr. of Overlea attributes his recent $50,000 top-prize scratch-off win to waking up with “triple zeros” on his mind.
The retired grocery manager, a daily player of Maryland Lottery games, said he started his day by buying a few 0-0-0 Pick 3 tickets. Later, at Jack’s Fine Food in Baltimore, his eyes were drawn to the $50,000 Cash scratch-off display, notably the zeros.
After confirming his win on the store’s prize-check scanner, the 69-year-old told Lottery officials that he was not surprised to see those “triple zeros,” but this time with a $50 and a comma in front of them. The $50,000 prize will help him continue to support his family, he said.
The $50,000 Cash game, which launched in December, still has 88 top prizes and 97 second-tier $5,000 prizes remaining. Jack’s Fine Food, located at 4519 Kenwood Avenue, receives a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
