Early Morning Shooting in North Charlotte Claims Life of 19-Year-Old

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Lawahon Dwight Hutchinson, a 19-year-old man, was shot and killed early Sunday morning at a residence in north Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to an assault call just after 3 a.m. in the 5000 block of Acorn Forest Lane.

Upon arrival, officers found Hutchinson with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

As investigations continue, no arrests have been made.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department asked anyone with relevant information to contact Detective Tisdale, who is leading the case.
