Police End Search for Alleged Subway Assault Suspect

ELMHURST, NY — As of Monday, the New York City Police Department has concluded its search for a suspect previously wanted in connection with a robbery attempt in Elmhurst.

The incident occurred on Sunday, when a 47-year-old female was assaulted at the Elmhurst Avenue and Broadway subway station.

The assailant attempted to snatch the victim’s purse, but a bystander intervened, pushing the attacker away.

The suspect then fled the scene without stealing any items.

The victim sustained no injuries during the encounter. Further details regarding the cessation of the search were not disclosed.
