Shooting in Newark's West Ward Leaves One Injured

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Police officials are investigating a shooting that occurred last Friday evening in the West Ward, which resulted in one male victim being injured.

The incident occurred around 6:14 p.m. in the 200 block of South 6th Street.

Responding officers found the victim with a gunshot wound. He received medical attention and was transported to University Hospital, where he is reportedly in stable condition.

The Newark Police are investigating the events leading to the shooting, gathering evidence, and seeking to identify involved suspects. They ask anyone with relevant information to come forward to aid in the investigation.
