Youngstown Teen Hospitalized in Accidental Shooting

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – A 14-year-old boy is currently hospitalized following an accidental shooting on Saturday morning in Youngstown.

The incident took place around 11:30 a.m. on the 200 block of East Lucius Avenue.

Captain Jason Simon of the Youngstown Police Department described the shooting as a result of negligence.

This event marks the second accidental shooting involving a juvenile in the city within a month. Simon stressed the need for proper firearm safety and secure storage, especially in households with children.

The Youngstown police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
