Investigations reveal that the assailant, Benjamin Charles Jones, may have been influenced by racially motivated violent extremist (RMVE) ideology, according to his journal writings. The FBI is delving deeper into these motivations.
Jones used a Hi-Point .45 caliber carbine with a nine-round magazine, purchased on November 18 from a Dayton area store. The investigation also scrutinizes Jones’ background and the veracity of his responses on the ATF Form 4473.
