Woman Strangled During Attack Over Money Dispute in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, PA – The Annapolis Police Department responded to an assault and robbery on the 800 block of Bay Ridge Avenue, occurring on Thursday, at 9:24 am.

The victim reported an altercation with Christopher Morton, 31, over a monetary dispute.

During the argument, Morton forcibly took the victim’s cellphone and began strangling her.

Initial reports of a handgun involvement were dismissed after the victim confirmed no weapon was displayed.

Morton was apprehended at the scene, charged with 1st Degree Assault, Robbery, and related charges, and later released on his own recognizance.
