One Dead in Shooting in the Bronx

NEW YORK CITY, NY – A 34-year-old man was fatally shot early Wednesday morning in the Bronx, according to the New York City Police Department. The incident occurred at 3836 Carpenter Avenue, within the NYPD’s 47th Precinct’s jurisdiction.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired at approximately 3:39 AM. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with a gunshot wound to the left side of his torso. Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing. The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of his family.
