SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, PA – A serious two-vehicle collision occurred in the 6150 block of Old Philadelphia Pike/West Kings Highway/Route 340 in Salisbury Township, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries.

The crash happened at around 8:50 a.m. on Dec. 24, as reported by state police. A vehicle heading east failed to stay in its lane and collided head-on with a westbound vehicle, according to Trooper Nicholas Ferra.

The eastbound vehicle ended up facing south, blocking the westbound lane. Its driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Paoli Hospital by Christiana EMS. The other vehicle was forced off the road into the tree line, ending up 10 yards from the crash site.

Three individuals in the struck vehicle sustained serious injuries. The driver, front-seat passenger, and right-rear passenger were taken to Lancaster General Hospital by Whitehorse EMS. Tragically, the right-rear passenger was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The roadway was closed for about five hours for investigation and cleanup, as per 511PA.
